Production Introduction
Canned high silicon cast iron anodes are securely packed in a large spiral of galvanized low-carbon steel and filled with calcium waste oil.
The prepacked Canistered High Silicon Cast Iron Anode is designed for the simple and high-quality field installation of cathodic protection projects. Its main advantages include low consumption rate, easy and quick installation, and low ground resistance. The assembly process is completed within the YUXI plant, ensuring the quality of anode bed field installation.
The canister housing is solely intended to survive transportation and installation. Once installed, the exterior housing becomes part of the anode system and is expected to be consumed quickly, leaving the anode and coke backfill. Our high silicon cast iron canister anodes are ideal impressed current anodes for shallow vertical and horizontal surface ground beds, as well as wet, marshy soil conditions prone to caving.
Chemical Composition
Rigorous controls are implemented in the chill casting process to meet the highest standards, adhering to X-Ray Level 1 per ASTM E186/E446, and chemistry complying with either ASTM A518-99 Gr 1 or 3.

Electrochemical Properties
Due to its high silicon content, the anode surface is readily oxidized, forming a thin film of hydrated silicon oxides that protects the anode from metal pitting. High silicon cast iron anodes exhibit extraordinary corrosion resistance and low consumption rates in low-pH environments.
