Hot melt drill is a tool made of special wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant tungsten carbide carbide (so it is also called tungsten carbide hot melt drill or carbide hot melt drill).

When the high-speed rotating drill bit contacts the surface of the workpiece and exerts downward axial pressure, the hot-melt drill head rubs against the metal and generates a high temperature of 650°C to 750°C, which rapidly softens the metal in the area near the hot-melt drill bit. While the hot melt drill squeezes and penetrates, it stretches the softened metal part into a metal front (convex) that is three to four times the original thickness. The whole process only takes 2-6 seconds. This boss can be used for extrusion. Tapping and thread forming enhance the connection effect. It can also be used as a bearing support seat, bifurcated throat connection, etc.
