Products structure

base material layer

The materials currently used as the base layer mainly include: platinum group metals and their oxides, tin antimony oxide, iridium-tantalum composite oxide base layer, etc. Their properties are as follows.

(1) Platinum group metals and their oxides:

The base layer has good electrical conductivity, which can greatly improve the bonding performance between the coating and the substrate.

(2) Tin antimony oxide:

The tin antimony oxide layer produced by thermal decomposition is uniform and dense. With this base layer, it is difficult for electrolytes to penetrate into the titanium surface, and it is also difficult for oxygen atoms or O 2- to penetrate. The diffusion of ions into the titanium matrix is also prevented, thereby avoiding the formation of TiO2.

(3) Titanium-tantalum composite oxide base layer:

This base layer has the characteristics of electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, and low electrochemical activity. Even if the bottom layer is exposed during the electrolysis process, the electrolysis reaction will not occur, so there is no problem of the coating peeling off caused by it.

surface active layer

The PbO2 surface active layer is generally prepared by electrodeposition. It has α and β2 crystal forms. β-PbO2 has good corrosion resistance and conductivity, and is usually used as an electrode surface active layer. However, α-PbO2 has a strong bonding force, and there is an OO atomic distance between its "bottom layer" and β-PbO2, which can buffer fusion, reduce electrodeposition deformation, and increase the affinity between the surface and the bottom layer. Therefore, during the electroplating process, α-PbO2 is first deposited under strong alkaline conditions, and then β-PbO2 is deposited under acidic conditions to increase the service life of the electrode.

application

Electroplating

They are commonly used in the electroplating industry because of their excellent corrosion resistance and stability.
In the process of electroplating, a metal object is immersed in an electrolyte solution and an electric current is applied to deposit a layer of metal on the surface of the object.
They ensure a consistent and controlled flow of electrical current, resulting in a uniform and high-quality metal coating.

application

Electrowinning

In the mining and metallurgical fields, they are indispensable in the electrolytic extraction process.
These anodes were chosen for their corrosion resistance, even when exposed to strongly acidic or alkaline solutions. Electrowinning involves extracting valuable metals from ores through electrolysis, a process that can last a long time.
The robustness of them ensures continuous recovery of metal, reducing downtime and maintenance costs for mining operations. This, in turn, helps improve the efficiency and profitability of the industry.

application

Electrosynthesis

They are widely used in electrosynthetic processes due to their high current density and excellent chemical stability.
These anodes enable precise control of electrochemical reactions, making them indispensable for the synthesis of complex organic and inorganic compounds. Researchers and manufacturers rely on lead dioxide anodes to produce specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates and innovative materials with high precision and efficiency.
This application contributes to the advancement of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
