What is the Drilling Process?
Drilling is a basic method of hole processing, drilling is often carried out on a drilling machine and a lathe, and can also be carried out on a boring machine or a milling machine. Commonly used drilling machines are bench drilling machine, vertical drilling machine and radial drilling machine.
Processing method
The process of machining holes in solid materials with a drill is called drilling processing. Drilling is one of the basic methods of hole processing, drilling is usually carried out on the drilling machine or lathe, but also on the boring machine or milling machine.
Drilling machine is the main machine tool for hole processing. The drilling machine is mainly drilled with a drill bit (twist drill). When drilling in the lathe, the workpiece rotates and the tool does the feed motion. When machining on the drilling machine, the workpiece does not move, the tool does the main movement of rotation, and moves along the axis to do the feed movement. Therefore, the drilling machine is suitable for processing the holes on the workpiece without symmetrical rotating axis, especially porous processing, such as the holes on the processing box, frame and other parts. In addition to drilling, the drilling machine can also complete reaming, reaming, counterfacing, tapping and other work, the processing method is shown in the following figure.
