The oxidation reaction of the anode surface,which immediately oxidizes and degrades organic matter on the anode surface,is the primary factor in the removal of COD.As a result,organic matter in sewage is either directly or indirectly changed into carbon dioxide and water through electrochemical conversion.

Water treatment anode can also be used in sewage treatment,through electrolysis to produce strong oxidizing substances,the macromolecular organic matter degradation into small molecular inorganic matter.
